Despite rumors to the contrary, there has been no change in the upcoming spring break for children in Boone County Schools.
This years wintry weather had many parents speculating that the number of days missed for snow days would need to be made up during the upcoming spring break.
The spring break for Boone County students is scheduled for April 13-17.
Our spring break is not affected. Our school year, however, has been extended by four days, confirmed Boone County Schools Assistant Superintendent Lisa D. Beck.
Students would have gotten out on June 1, so we have announced to schools that the last day of school with June 5, she said.
By extending the school year by four days, students will catch up on those missed days due to bad weather.
The next regularly scheduled meeting is Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Operations Complex, Foster.
