Ball & Aleshire Reunion
The family of the late Gus Ball & Lucretta (Aleshire) Ball will hold their family reunion on Sunday, July 29th at the Bias Branch Community Building. All family and friends are welcome. Foster Neighborhood Crime Watch Meeting
Foster Neighborhood Crime Watch meeting will be Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at the Foster Community Center. Renee’s School of Dance
Renee’s School of Dance registration dates for fall classes-Friday July 27 from 5-7p.m.; Monday August 6 and 13th from 5 - 7p.m. This will be the last registration. Classes start on September 10th. There will be an auction at the Whitesville Salamy Building Saturday, July 28, with bidding starting at 6 p.m. Come early to view the items. The concession stand will be serving hotdogs, BBQ’s, taco salad, nachos and cheese, homemade goodies, hot and cold drinks and more.

2012 Photo Fund Drive
The Danville Volunteer Fire Dept. will be hosting a 2012 Photo Fund Drive with the proceeds going towards updating rescue and firefighting equipment. The portraits will be taken at the Danville Fire Station on Saturday and Sunday, July 21 and 22, from noon to 5 p.m. You receive a complimentary 11x14 family portrait with a $20 donation. Walk-in’s are welcome and no appointment is needed.
Back to School Bash
Boone Memorial Hospital, Inc. is partnering with the Fountain of Life Worship Center to over various services/tests at their annual “Back to School Bash” this month. Services are free of charge that day other than a few minimal costs for some of the testing BMH, Inc. will provide. The church will provide free food, huge inflatables for the kids, and Christian music/concerts throughout the day among other family fun events. Keep in mind BMH clinicians will offer sports physicals for athletes at the event for only $10.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fountain of Life Worship Center at Rock Creek (Boone County).

Boone County WIC
The Boone County WIC office will once again be offering the Farmers Market Vouchers. These vouchers will be given out to those participants that are currently on WIC. The participant must be up-to-date on their appointments and must bring their WIC folder with them. Qualified WIC participants may come in to the WIC office from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: August: 14, 21, or 28. Alice in Wonderland at library
There is going to be an Alice in Wonderland themed Tea Party at the Boone Madison Public Library on August 15, 2012. One must be signed up in order to attend. The sign up dates are July 23 - August 3, 2012. Guardians may bring children ages 2-7 only and it is going to be a formal gathering. Please do not be late for this very important date!
Madison VFW Post 5578 is building a Veteran’s Memorial to honor mothers of veterans and veterans. Purchase a brick for $50. TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Thursday at the Fountain of Life Worship Center, Rock Creek. The entrance is on the left side of the building. Weigh in is from 5 to 5:30 p.m. TOPS is a nonprofit Weight Loss support group. Membership is $28 a year which includes a monthly magazine. Games and incentives are used weekly for weight loss motivation. TOPS is open to men, women and children seven years or older.
Sherman High School
Sherman High School’s classes of 1950, 1951, and 1952 will hold a joint Class Reunion on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Holiday Inn & Suites (formerly Ramada Inn) in South Charleston. Scott High School’s class of 2014 will be publishing The Scott High School Community Cookbook this spring. The school would like to encourage all community members to submit their favorite recipes. All submissions need to be turned in no later than March 5th.

Seventh Annual Senior Citizen Bluegrass Night
The Seventh Annual Senior Citizen Bluegrass Night will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 7:30 p.m., featuring Bobby Osborne and the Rocky Top X-Press. Admission is free as part of the Coalfield Jamboree in downtown Logan.
Also, on Saturday, July 28, at 7 p.m. “Restless Heart” will be live in concert at the Coalfield Jamboree at 308 Main Street in Logan.
