Boone Memorial Hospital “Day of Caring”
Boone Memorial Hospital has been asked to participate in the United Way “Day of Caring”, a community-wide event benefiting nonprofit agencies in WV. Each year, the DOC (Day of Caring) brings together volunteers committed to creating positive change in the lives of children, families and seniors. In support of DOC, BMH will host a food drive over the next couple of weeks. All food will be donated to the Madison Baptist Church food pantry, which feeds hundreds of families in Boone County annually.
Here’s how you can help - Note: Incentives and prizes will be awarded!
*Please bring in non-perishable food items between now and Sept. 12. Drop off locations are available in the LRC and the Main Lobby at Boone Memorial Hospital.
The Madison Baptist Church has asked for a few specific items for the Day of Caring food drive. Of course they will be happy with all non-perishable items but could really use the following: Mac and cheese; Boxed rice; Pancake mix and syrup; Spaghetti and sauce; Cereal; Boxed mashed potatoes; Jiffy mix; Spam or Treet; Peanut Butter; Soup; Canned fruit; Canned beans (pinto, kidney, pork and beans); and Canned vegetables (carrots, spinach, potatoes, peas, green beans, corn).
*Please keep the items in bags if you have them. This will make it easier when transporting to the church.
We will have a sign-up sheet at both food drop-off locations where you can list your name and number of items brought in (this will be done on the honor system). For every 10 items you bring in you get 1 ticket entered in to win $100). Community members and BMH Employees are eligible to win the $100.
