Once a month, Boone Career Center teachers and students start the day with Face Time Friday. On the first Friday of each month students get to know more about an instructor and the program they teach. Teachers are introduced by Mr. Nelson, Boone Career Center director. Instructors provide information about themselves which is put into a list titled “did you know?” Teachers have ten minutes to engage the students on a topic and then a student showcases his/her talent for ten minutes.
On Friday, September 7, 2012 Mr. Peters, adult welding instructor, spoke on character to a captive audience. Then, the am students proceeded to the parking lot where Ora Carroll showed off his whip cracking skills. The pm students were entertained with a juggling skill act by Tyler Hill and Dylyn Brown. Face Time is an excellent way for students and instructors to get to know more about the school and student body. It also reveals unique talents while building confidence.
