For the Coal Valley News
Ahh, the lovely weather of fall is here. Unfortunately, along with it, comes the dreaded seasonal allergy. The sneezing, sniffling and coughing can be heard almost every place you go. I love this time of year but could certainly do without the allergy symptoms!
I have a request from a reader in Illinois. Who is a former resident of Seth, WV. She is looking for a Sherman High School yearbook from 1964. Her yearbook was destroyed in a flood years ago. She would love to find one to replace it. If you know of anyone that has a 1964 yearbook, please contact me. She would love to purchase it.
Veteran Wall of Fame to start at Sherman High School. Mr. Barnette, the principal at Sherman High would like to invite any Veteran or current service member that attended Sherman High School or lives in the community and received an honorable discharge to bring in a 4 inch by 6 inch photo. This photo will be framed and placed on the Veteran Wall of Fame on the walls of the cafeteria. It can be a photograph from the service, in uniform or snapshot of your choosing. If you do not have one available, you can call the school at 304-837-3301 for an appointment. They will take a picture of you for the wall. The School would like to say thank you to all of our Veterans and current service personnel for protecting and serving our country. This wall of fame will serve as a small token of their appreciation.
