Sarilda Mae Brown, 83, passed away on January 13, 2013 in Muncie, IN. She was born November 26, 1929, in Seth, WV, to the late Benjamin Franklin and Tilda Mammie (White) Runion.
She was preceded in death by her Parents & Grandparents, two husbands, James F. Riddle, and John W. Brown, two sons, Lonnie and Everett Riddle, and her 3 brothers Will, Sid, Press Runion and one sister Kelsie Zornes.
Those that knew Sarilda affectionately called her “Mae or Maw”, she was an avid CB’er where she went by the CB handle “Sweetiemae”. She and her late Husband John were members of Muncie react for several years, and she used to organize Coffee breaks for travelers at local rest stops. She was a homemaker and raised 7 children, she enjoyed reading, crafts, hunting and camping, and she was a huge Indianapolis Colts fan and WVU fan.
When she would hear her favorite song “Take me home, country roads” she would often talk of the years she spent growing up and raising her kids in WV. She moved to Indiana in 1980, but her heart always remained down home in those mountains.
She is survived by three daughters, Juanita Weaver and Jenny Enochs of Muncie, IN, Jannie Harper, her husband Paul,of Indianapolis, IN; two sons, Leonard Riddle, wife Suzanne, of Ruther Glen, VA, and James Riddle, of Muncie, IN; twelve Grandchildren, Len, Kim, Brian Riddle, Karen Allred, Lillian houk, Billy Weaver, James Matthew Riddle, Michael Seabolt, Jimmy Riddle, Jessica, Jordan, Andy Riddle; Six Great Grandchildren, Leanna Allred, Meranda Foster, Ryan and Charles Allred, Brittany Riddle, Lillianna Riddle; Four Great Great Grandchildren, Malaylah, Brekston Foster, Lexus Amerson, Ashton Fox; One brother, Crawford Runion; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Parson Mortuary, Muncie, IN with Rev. Gene McComas officiating. She was Laid to rest beside John at Tomlinson Cemetery, Muncie, IN.
