This week was an eventful week as usual. Many pieces of legislation went through but more important events than bills has happened this week.
First and foremost, I want to send my deepest condolences to the family of Asa Fitzpatrick. Asa was a true American Hero…a Vietnam vet, and a fellow miner. It is always extremely difficult to loose a fellow miner. Our area of America knows all too well the sting of losing our loved ones. Though mining has gotten safer, we still have a very long way to go. Please remember the family in your prayers.
Also this week we had several students up from Sherman. It is always a pleasure to get to spend some time with the young people of our area. They are the future.
We had some visitors up at the Capitol this week as well from the radical environmental group. They marched into the Capitol with signs that had profanity and obscene comments written on them. The group “Friends and Families for Coal” was here to counter protest and stand up for coal.
Lastly, keeping up with our heritage, I turned in a bill to make the Pepperoni roll the official state food of WV. We do not currently have a state food, and seeing as hot the Pepperoni roll was invented here in WV in Fairmont by coal miners, I saw it as a fitting food to represent us.
As always, it’s a pleasure to serve you. My office is always open. Contact me anytime. Montani Semper Liberi!
It is an absolute honor serving you at our legislature. I will continue to tirelessly fight for Southern West Virginia on all aspects. If I can be of any help, my email address is Joshua.email@example.com, or you can come by my office at 6R in your capitol building.
