Daniel Joseph O’Neal has been located.

The missing Boone County man was found alive is in Houston, Texas, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

“He is currently being united with his family here in West Virginia,” said Boone County Chief Deputy Chad Barker. “He was disoriented and didn’t know where he was when he spoke with his family in the early morning hours of Sunday. He was able to get in touch with the Houston police department and they were able to find him.”

The circumstances around his disappearance are still under investigation.

“We are anxiously waiting to speak with Mr. O’Neal to find out more,” Barker said. “His family have been worried sick and have left no stone unturned looking for him. As far as the investigation goes, we have expended numerous man hours and many resources attempting to locate O’Neal. We pulled out all the stops during this investigation, but kept hitting dead ends.”

O’Neal’s dark green Toyota Solara with WV registration number DNT677 is still missing, Barker added.

“The bottoms line is, we are glad he is OK,” said Barker. “However, we want some answers for the last 10 days.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

“We will release more after we are able to speak with him,” Barker said.
