RACINE – Boone County continues to crack down on illegal drug activity and this time made four arrests in relation to an active methamphetamine lab.
Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Danny Ray Griffy, age 48; Cecil Ray Davis, age 45; and Terry L. Davis, age 20, all three from the Racine and Seth area; and Brandon Shawn Mollett, 25, of Peytona.
“The four were all charged with operating a clandestine laboratory and conspiracy,” said Boone County Chief Deputy Chad Barker.
Barker said members of the Sheriff’s Office were acting on a tip that meth was being cooked at the residence located at 92 Vista Drive in Racine.
“When Deputies arrived, the three, along with Brandon Shawn Mollett, were actively cooking methamphetamine in two separate containers at the residence,” Barker said.
Initially, Mollett was able to elude capture, but was picked up on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, Barker said.
All four men were arraignment by Boone County Magistrate C. Porter Snodgrass and bond was set at $100,000.
Operating a clandestine lab carries 2-10 years in prison sentence, and conspiracy carries 1-5 years in prison if convicted.
Sheriff Randall White added that, “This arrest would not have been possible without help from the public.”
“This residence has been a problem area for several years and this is not the only arrests officers have made from there,” White said. “Please remember, we have two tip lines available for use, by telephone at 304-369-7387 and online by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
