In memory of Parker Graffius

February 18, 2014

On December 8th, 2013 our family lost a son a brother, and an Uncle; Parker, I can only tell you that we are surviving. We move from one day to the next by simply placing one foot in front of the other. The pain some days is unbearable, yet the only thing we know to do is survive. We often hear people say: I can’t imagine; well we can’t imagine either and we are all living it. I’m sure most of you know that exactly 2 months to the day, Remmington, Parkers’ dog, was hit and killed by a car. This is another devastating loss that we must endure. Yet, we do so, again by placing one foot in front of the other. We don’t have another option.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to honor Parker at his funeral. I feel it is impossible to thank each and every one of you. So, I am hoping this will show our appreciation. If you have sent cards, flowers, quilts, plants, plaques, prayers, food or donated money; from the bottom of our hearts we thank you. It did not go unnoticed!

My family and I were overwhelmed with the outpouring of people that showed up to honor our son. He truly was a gift from God above that was simply taken to soon. As a mother, I must have the strength to survive because of the 4 children that I still have. My older son has a wife, Erica and a beautiful son; our grandson, Elijah that need us. I just have to be a different type of mom now, one that has children here on earth and I have to find the Will to be a mother to the one in Heaven.

With all the prayers I know people are saying for us, God will give us all the Will and the strength to continue in this life so we may be with Parker again. If you see me, as a mom, and think I am not friendly or am trying to ignore you, please know that is not the intent. I truly think the hole that Parker left in my heart is sometimes bigger than my heart itself.

When we moved here 25 years ago, I never would have imagined the family we have developed. You all mean a great deal to us and will forever be a part of our family. In closing I can only ask that you continue to pray for us all. I know that prayer is the only thing that will give us the strength and will to survive. Thank You,

The Graffius’ Robb, Gina, Heather , Samantha, Joshua, Erica and Elijah.
