According to Chief Deputy Chad Barker with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect who was arrested Friday night has been identified as David Griffy.

He was taken to the Southwestern Regional Jail and his bond was set at $50,000.

Barker says the fugitive who was found dead in the Coal River was identified as James Alfred King III, 43, of Charleston.

According to Barker, King was wanted on a federal parole violation, as well as a failure to appear charge out of Kanawha County State Court on Methamphetamine related charges.

Barker says that four deputies who jumped into the Coal River to rescue Griffy and King were all treated for Hypothermia at an area hospital, and were all released Friday night.

According to Barker, all four of them are doing well.
