Iowa student needs help on WV project

Dear Editor,

Hi! My names is Jackson L. I’m a fifth grader at Harlan Intermediate School in Harlan, Iowa.

My class is studying the geography and history of the United States. I was so excited when I found out I got your state of West Virginia.

It would be amazing if I could get some information, a souvenir, or anything would be greatly appreciated.

Also, my teacher Mrs. Newlin would like a car license plate from your state if possible.

Thank you,

Jackson L.

Stop ‘All-But-One’ approach

Dear Editor:

Please stop the passage of the “All But One” approach.

As the owner of a small business, utilities are one of my biggest concerns. The cost has grown considerably in the last two years.

Coal is a wonderful resource – use it. Stop pumping money into energy sources like wind energy and put the money into making coal burn cleaner. This is possible!

Other countries like England and Wales have done it on a much larger scale than the U.S. Less than two years ago there was an informative article in Forbes magazine about this very possibility. However, our government has shown no interest. The Chinese government embraced this coal idea.

It makes you wonder how many congressmen, etc., have holdings in wind power. Use coal! Make it possible for us who are not on subsidies to pay our bills.
