MADISON – Scott High School senior Nick Weeks has signed a national letter of intent to run track at the University of Charleston.

Weeks had a ceremony Friday morning inside the Boone County school’s media center with friends, relatives, coaches, teachers and administrators.

“This opportunity is huge,” said Weeks, who will run for former Scott High School track coach Nick Bias at UC. “I couldn’t believe it when they offered me.”

Asked why he chose UC, Weeks said: “It is close by. It is a nice school with nice facilities. I know a lot of people who go there. I have a great relationship with the coach.”

Weeks qualified for the Class AA state meet in the 400-meter dash and 1,600-meter relay last year.
