MADISON — Sandra Barker, owner of a new variety shop in downtown Madison, says she wanted to create a business that offered a fun and friendly shopping experience.

Sandys’ Treasurers offers a wide selection of unique items, as well as things you would find at any thrift shop.

“Downtown Madison is a great location,” Barker said during last week’s grand opening of the store.

“This was a silent grand-opening, but we plan on something much bigger soon,” she said.

“We felt the shop would benefit a lot of people here by providing inexpensive, everyday items that everyone needs, in addition to many unique items as well,” Barker added.

The large item selection includes lots of apparel, pictures, some very nice handbags, jewelry, WVU and other unique West Virginia items, sunglasses and a little bit of everything, she says.

“I urge everyone to come check us out,” she said.

The new shop is located at 813 Main Street in Madison, next to Twice As Nice.

The new store offers its shoppers a variety of goods from jeans to toys and games.

“I think most people will be pleasantly surprised at all the things we have,” she said.
