WEST MADISON — One person can make a difference. Over 200 people can make a really big difference.

The 1st and 10 Foundation and the City of Madison are looking for volunteers to help erect a playground in West Madison on Tuesday, Sept. 28.

“We are working with a non-profit organization called KaBOOM! to make this dream a reality,” said Jennifer Correa,
Executive Director of Chad Pennington’s 1st and 10 Foundation.

Over 200 volunteers are needed to build the playground, she said.

“Construction will take place rain or shine on Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.,” Correa said. “This is a chance for members of the community to truly make a difference in the lives of your children.”

Children from Madison were on hand for Design Day, which was held Tuesday, Aug. 10.

“They sketched designs, spoke about the different things they wanted to see on the new structure, and shared in the excitement of the project,” according to Correa. “They came up with wonderful ideas, and many will be implemented in the structure.”

If you want to be a part of this rewarding project, please sign up by emailing Jennifer Correa: director@1stand10foundation.com.

“Volunteers must be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.,” she added.

No experience is required and food will be provided, she said.

“Please be sure to included you first and last name, phone number, email and shirt size,” Correa said. “Because this project requires so many people, we ask that you pre-register prior to the playground build day.”

If you have any questions, please email or call 1-631-384-3667. Drawings for giveaways for volunteers will take place following the build.
