Indra Bradley Ferrell, 95, of Peytona passed away Sunday August 29, 2010 in Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
She was a retired Elementary School Principal from Boone County Schools with
over 40 years of service. Her first teaching job was in a one-room schoolhouse in Fork Creek, Emmons, WV. She was a Presbyterian and was a member of the PI Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Society. She was
Past President of Boone County Retired School Employees Association and was a former 4-H Leader in Peytona for many years.
Indra was a strong, independent lady who was gracious, kind and exuded an ever-present positive attitude. There was nothing she loved more than her time on her Gravely mower as she mowed acreage at her family homeplace.
Indra enjoyed her garden & her roses and spent hours reading on how to make them better every year. More than her flowers, family was her pride & joy.
All of the family gathered at the homeplace to spend time with her, to laugh and love. Indra's greatest strength came from time spent with her great grandsons, especially passing the football with them and cheering WVU to a victory. Indra was the epitome of love, hope, strength and God's grace.
She lived her life by Galations 5: 22-23.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennie Middleton Ferrell in 1975; parents, Andrew Jackson and Eliza May Leftwich Bradley and nine brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her daughters, Betty May Ferrell Kelley of South Charleston and Virginia Lynn Clendenin (Richard) of Charleston; granddaughter, Paige
Clendenin Johnson (Chip) of Charleston; great grandsons, Jackson Thomas Johnson and Blaine Leonard Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Indra's family would like to thank all of the compassionate and dedicated nurses and physicians at Hubbard Hospice House. Their care and love for
Indra was simply beautiful and blessed by God.
