First Baptist Church of Whitesville

The First Baptist Church of Whitesville will be having its Vacation Bible School the week of July 21-25, 2014, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. nightly.

Pre-K through 12th grade classes are available. The theme is “A Child is Born.”

Christmas in July - There will be three days of classes, a program on Thursday night, and a surprise on Friday. Pre-registration will be held on Wednesday, July 9, and July 16, from 6 to 7 p.m.

Vacation Bible School at New Hope Baptist Church

Children ages four-years-old to teens are invited to attend Vacation Bible School at New Hope Baptist Church, at 7 p.m. starting Wednesday, July 30th thru Sunday August 3rd.

VBS theme is “Character Construction” with fun filled Biblical classes, crafts, songs and always yummy snacks. Need a ride? Call Wayne McCray 304-247-6493.

The church is located 850 Pond Fork Road in Madison, on the right above Boone Memorial Hospital. Ray Barker is Pastor.

Annual Car Show

Switzer Church of God will host its Annual Car Show, located on Rt. 44 Switzer on Saturday, August 30, 2014.

Registration from 9 a.m. to noon with the car show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be music, concessions, door prizes and specialty trophies.

12-step Faith-Based Classes

12-step Faith-Based Classes will be offered at Prestera at Lick Creek Road in Danville on Fridays at noon.

They will also be offered at the Lick Creek Community Building on Lick Creek Road in Danville on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.

These classes are open to the public.

Seeking families to make a difference

Burlington United Methodist Family Services is currently seeking foster homes in the Raleigh/Boone County area. Foster Parents will receive training and support. Please contact Steven or Lisa at 304-252-1598.

Lick Creek Community Church

Pastor: Richie Schultz. Location: 3 miles up Lick Creek. Road. on right. Times: Sunday: 10 a.m., Sunday School 11 a.m. Preaching. We also have two nightly services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 7 p.m.

We also have services on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Prayer Connection Lighthouse

Prayer Connection Lighthouse in Danville is accepting donations of clothing, canned goods, furniture and garden foods.

Monetary donations can also be mailed to P.O. Box 159, Danville, WV 25053.

They also need volunteers from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Greenview Church of Christ

The Greenview Church of Christ, located at the intersection of state route 17 and Big Branch Road, would like to invite everyone to their Sunday morning Bible Study for all ages, beginning at 10 a.m. with worship services at 11 a.m. They also have a mid-week Bible Study on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. For more information, call 304-369-3134.
