SYLVESTER — It’s always nice to hear about kids doing something good.

This was the case at the Vacation Bible School at Sylvester Baptist Church. The kids there made individual quilt blocks that were made into a large quilt.

The quilt, along with other quilts, will be sent to the “Quilts of Love” program for the village of Unalakleet, Alaska, according to Pastor David Minturn.

“Patrick and Lisa McCoy are missionaries there,” he said. “Lisa is the former Lisa Adkins of Seth.”

The students also gave an offering to cover the expense of a July 4th cookout for this entire Alaskan village.

“The students really enjoyed being a part of this missionary project,” the pastor said.
