COMFORT — Several arrests have been made and more are pending in relation to a break-in at the Family Life Pharmacy in Comfort, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.


Arrested so far has been Cory Allen Holstine, 20 years old, of Keith; Brett Michael Zornes, 22, of Bloomingrose; and Michael Dale Fenstermacher, 22, of Orgas.


The three men were charged with felony breaking and entering, which carries a possible sentence of 1-15 years in prison; grand larceny, which is also a felony that carries a possible 1-10 years in prison; two felony counts of possession with the intent to deliver; and conspiracy, which carry a 1 to 3 and 1-5 years in prison respectively.


Fenstermacher was also charged two felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance, which carry from 1 to 3 and 1 to 5 years sentences in prison.


The break-in occurred in the early morning hours of April 24, 2014. The alleged thieves were able to get away with a large quantity of Hydrocodone (Vicodin and Lortab) and Alprazolam (Xanax) pills, the sheriff’s office reported.


“This is an investigation we have poured hundreds of man hours into and an incident our men and women have taken very seriously” said Boone County Sheriff Randall White. “I would like to thank everyone in the community who has taken the time to pass along leads to us over the last month, no matter how small they may have been. I would also like to pass along my gratitude to the men and women of the Boone Sheriff’s Office for their tireless efforts to bring these men to justice. It has taken a combined effort to get this case to where it is now.”


The men were arraigned in front of Boone County Magistrate Charles “Chuck” Byrnside and bond was set for Holstine and Zornes at $100,000 property only and for Fenstermacher at $140,000 property only.


More arrests are pending in this case and that information will follow as it develops, the sheriff added.
