Deputies with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 center call of a breaking and entering of the United States Post Office in Nellis just a few minutes after noon on Friday, May 23, 2014.
After interviewing witnesses at the scene, deputies said they were able to start looking for a suspect almost immediately.
“As the crime scene was being processed, the suspect Dakota ‘Cody’ Javins, 21 , of Nellis was apprehended and taken into custody,” said Boone County Chief Deputy Chad Barker. “Evidence was recovered, which connected Javins to the crime and he also gave a confession to deputies.”
Javins was taken to Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden to await arraignment in front of Boone County Magistrate Clarence “Porter” Snodgrass.
