Kroger has named Sharon Sever Vice President-Merchandising for the Mid-Atlantic region based in Roanoke.
Sever comes from Kroger’s headquarters in Cincinnati, where she directed a project designed to identify ways to engage customers. Previously, she held leadership positions in Kroger’s Mid-South region in Louisville for 13 years before moving to headquarters in Cincinnati in 1996.
In the Mid-Atlantic region, she will oversee merchandising and advertising for the 121 stores in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and the eastern portions of Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio.
A native of Detroit, Sever attended the University of Cincinnati. She has two children. One son works for Kroger in the Lexington, Kentucky area and her daughter will graduate from college this spring.
Sever replaces Valerie Jabbar, who transferred to Ralph’s region of Kroger.
