Latasha Mitchell was named Miss West Virginia International Saturday night, March 29th at the West Virginia Culture Center in Charleston, WV. She will compete at the Miss International Pageant on August 1st and 2nd in Jacksonville, Florida.


Mitchell will promote a platform called “No Place Like Home’ this year to raise awareness about adoption and foster care. She is passionate about informing others about adoption and foster care, explaining how they can volunteer and fundraising to support children in local foster homes.


Currently a full-time student at Marshall University, Mitchell is studying Microbiology and Human Diseases and plans to become a Head Pharmacist and open her own pharmacy in her home town. Outside of working with her platform, she volunteers with Cross-Light of Hope, Little Victories Animal Shelter and founded Operation Christmas Heroes.


“The West Virginia International System is thrilled to have crowned Latasha and looks forward to the work she will do to promote adoption and foster home awareness throughout the state this year,” said Executive Director of the West Virginia International Pageant, Julie Warden.
