Black Eye Promotions will return to Madison for the 2nd straight event, as King of the Coal Fields IV will be held this Saturday, August 25 at the Madison Civic Center. The event will feature a night of 15 amateur fights including 8 title fights for KOTCF Championship Belts. Unlike KOTCF 1 and 2, this event will not feature professional fights so the amateurs will take center stage. Competitors in this event range from ages 14-34 and vary in skill from debut fighters to some with 50-100 fights.

Amateur boxers will come from all over the state, and many top gyms will be represented on the card. KOTCF regulars Lights Out Gym (Madison) and Dawghouse Gym (Charleston) will be joined by Quicksand MMA (Madison), Sub Zero Boxing (Huntington, formerly Buckeye Boxing), Mountaineer MMA (Princeton), and Valley Boxing Gym (Teays Valley) among others. The increase in interest from gyms like these should only add to the talent on the KOTCF events and the shows promoters hope this is evident in the quality of fights Saturday night.

Local fighters will again be featured including 165-lb champ Eric Damron, Byron Moore, James Arthur, and Garrett Price from Madison. All four fighters train at Lights Out Boxing Gym in Madison with trainer Scott Kuhn. Logan native Bo Darby also trains at Lights Out and he will go up against Sherman grad Justin Cooper in a heavyweight matchup. Other Logan County fighters include 152-lb JR Division Champ Boo Hensley, Dan Adkins (Chapmanville), and Josh Jeffrey (Logan).

USA Boxing will once again sanction the event and fights will include 3 two-minute rounds. FriendsofCoalMiners.net will return as the primary sponsor along with help from Hill Chiropractic, Joshua Nelson for House, Twilight Security, Boone Memorial Hospital, and SKS Security Solutions. Boone County native James Armstrong will return as the show’s ring announcer.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the first fight scheduled for 7 p.m. Ticket prices have been lowered for this event and range from $15 (GA) to $25 (front row) and can be purchased by calling either 304-785-9124 or 304-688-1946 or can be picked up at Hill Chiropractic in Madison and Logan.
