A reminder of the upcoming reunions in our area during the next few months. The 25th annual Nellis-Armco reunion is Saturday, June 30, beginning at noon at the Nellis Elementary School gym; and the 11th annual Brush Creek Grade School reunion is Saturday, August 18, beginning at noon at the B.B. Johnston shelter at Racine Park.
Congratulations to Ann Turley of Ridgeview who was recently appointed a member of the Boone County Historic Landmark Commission.

SPECIAL HOT ROLLS
1 pkg dry yeast, 1 1/2 Tbsps. water, 1/4 cup shortening - melted, 1 egg, beaten, 1/2 cup warm water, 1/2 teasp. salt, 2 to 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided, 1/8 cup plus 1 Tablespoon margarine - softened.
Dissolve yeast in 1 1/2 tablespoons water in a large mixing bowl. Let stand 5 minutes. Add sugar, shortening, eggs, 1/2 cup warm water, salt, and 1 cup flour. Beat at low speed for one minute. Gradually stir in enough remaining flour to make dough soft. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, knead 4 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Shape dough into a ball and place in a well greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size. Punch dough down and divide into 2 equal parts.
Roll into a 12-inch circle on a floured board, spread with butter. Cut each circle into wedges, roll up each wedge beginning at wide end. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Point side down. Cover and let rise for an hour (in warm place). Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes. Yields 2 dozen.
