Pro Coal Rally

Friends and Families for Coal is hosting a Pro Coal Rally on Thursday Oct. 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Little Theater in Logan High School. Billie Erlewine Epperheart states: “We are a grass root organization composed of supporters of the working men and women of West Virginia. Our focus is on promoting community involvement because of the thousands of miners losing their jobs and the families affected. Every time a mine shuts down it effects the entire community, and the politicians of this state and country need to know that we are real people, REAL families, and that the shut downs have REAL consequences for local retailers, county Government, and especially schools. We have hosted two rallies thus far, one in Boone County and one in Putnam County. Our hope is to hold one in all 55 counties. If I could send a personal message to the people of Logan it would be this: Logan County is the 2nd largest Coal Producing County in the State of West Virginia producing 150,157,981 Tons from 2001-2011. Help us help you. We believe there is REAL strength in numbers. We believe you can make a difference. We believe in the hard working people of this state. So, come out to the rally and learn what we the citizens in our communities can do to help fight the “War on Coal.” Hope to see you there.”
