Former Boone County educator named Correctional Education Association ‘Teacher of the Year’

Ron Smith former Boone Co. educator was named CEA teacher of the year for West Virginia last week at the Office of Institutional Education fall conference in Morgantown. Ron began teaching in Boone County in 1999 at Scott High School. In 2001, he was tranferred to Sherman High School where he taught until January 2010. He is currently teaching adult at the Mount Olive Correctional Complex in Fayette County. Ron thanks Boone County Board of Education for their support of his career as an educator and attributes much of his success to the teachers and leadership of Boone County Schools.
