Madison Middle School soccer
Madison Middle School will be providing supervised soccer conditioning beginning on and August 1, 2, and 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the school’s front lawn.
In case of inclement weather, the conditioning will take place in the gym. Physicals are required, attendance is optional.
On August 6, 7th tryouts for the MMS soccer team will be held on the front lawn of the middle school from 6pm to 8pm.
In case of inclement weather tryouts will be held in the gym. A physical is required for tryouts.
Practices will occur daily from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in West Madison, the front lawn of the middle school, at Scott field, or the middle school gym.

The 3rd Annual Memorial Golf Outing
The 3rd Annual Jim Smoot Memorial Golf Outing is scheduled for Saturday, August 11th at 9:30 a.m. at Riverview Country Club, Rt. 17 in Madison.
The cost is $40 per person, which includes 18 Holes with cart and lunch.

Ramage Skyhawks tryouts
The Ramage Skyhaws will be having signups every evening at Ramage Field from to 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for cheerleading and majorettes.
On Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, there will be a movie night from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ramage Field. Admission is $1 and the concession stand will be open. Bring a chair or a blanket and watch “Rio.”
The 25th Annual Boone County WVU Alumni and Friends Pig Roast
The 25th Annual Boone County WVU Alumni and Friends Pig Roast will be held at Riverview Country Club on Saturday, July 28, 2012, after having been canceled as a result of the severe storm, which struck Boone County on June 30, 2012.
The scramble golf tournament begins at 10:30 a.m. with registration for the golf starting at 10 a.m. on July 28.
Golf is $100 per person and this includes pig roast participation.
The pig roast begins at 3:30 p.m., and is $20 per person. WVU students are admitted free and all full-time Boone County students attending WVU will be presented with a $50 book certificate to The Book Exchange if they attend the pig roast.
“The success of this event dictates our ability to provide scholarships to Boone County students to attend WVU,” said Chapter President, Charles Piccirillo. “We really need the community to come out and participate and be involved in this event so that we can continue to provide scholarships to worthy Boone County students attending WVU. This is our 25th year of existence and over the years we have given hundreds of thousands dollars in scholarships to Boone County students.”
While they were “blown away” by the storms of June 29, the Boone County WVU Alumni and Friends Chapter will have another great event at Riverview on July 28 and hope you will attend.

Scott High Golf Team
The Scott golf team will begin practice on July 30 at 8am. Practice will be at Riverview Country Club. All players are required to have a physical before July 30th. Coach Jim Bob Brown.
King of the Coal Fields III
King of the Coal Fields III will be held at the Madison Civic Center on July 28, 2012, at 7 p.m. It will be a pro-am event and will include around five professional fights. Zack Kuhn from Madison will be fighting along with several other professional fighters.
‘Clash in the Coalfields’ event
The Ancient Mystic Order of Samaritans (AMOS) Chemika #40 (members of the Odd Fellows Lodges) in cooperation with the Heart of Appalachia Roller Derby would like to announce the “Clash in the Coalfields” Roller Derby event at the Madison Civic Center, Saturday August 11
2012 at 7 p.m. AMOS is sponsoring this event and all AMOS proceeds will go to benefit Camp Kno Koma, a diabetes camp for kids in West Virginia.
The Danville Area Lions Club will be providing concessions and a portion of the proceeds from concession sales will also be donated to Camp Kno Koma.
