LINCOLN COUNTY -- A man was arrested this morning after a body was found in a Lincoln County creek Wednesday night, July 11, 2012.

Greg A. Justice, 31, of Sumerco, is accused of killing Daniel Cook, 30, also of Sumerco, according to Sgt. Michael Baylous, of the West Virginia State Police.

Cook's body was found in a creek in the Laurel Fork area of Woodville at about 9:30 p.m., according to police.

Cook was shot in the chest with a .22-caliber rifle. He was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center where he died of his injuries Wednesday night.

An autopsy is pending with the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office, Baylous said.

Justice and Cook were long-time friends, Baylous said. No other details or motive for the killing was released by police. The investigation is ongoing, Baylous said.

Family members told police that Cook has been missing since last Friday. Cook's family and friends had organized search parties since his disappearance.
