Man killed in logging accident at Boone County coal mine

A man has been killed in a logging accident at a coal mine in Boone County.

The accident was not mine related and happened at the Hobet Mine, according to emergency dispatchers.

No other injuries were reported and the man’s name has not been released.

No other details have been released.

In other police and court news:

• Last week, a man lost control of the truck he was driving on Corridor G in southern Boone County and was ejected from the vehicle, according to police

The truck rolled over several times and the roadway was closed for a period of time.

The man was flown to the Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) by HealthNet helicopter and was listed in serious condition.

He name or any other details about the accident have been released.

• Also last week, there was an accident near the Boone Golf Course with injuries.

A two car accident on Route 17 near Riverview Country Club has blocked the road while crews prepare to fly at least one patient out by HealthNet, according to previously published media reports.
