Hope everyone has a safe Labor Day weekend, the last official holiday of summer.

A revival is scheduled at the Rumble Community Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Duncan from Tampa, Fla. He is associated with the Calvin Evans Ministries on TV. Services begin Sunday, Sept. 9 at 10:00 a.m., and again at 6:00 p.m. Services the rest of the week will begin at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Richard Harold invites everyone to attend.

FUDGE FILLED CUPCAKES

Ingredients:

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup sugar

1 egg

1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips, divided

1 (18.25-ounce) package yellow cake mix, batter mixed according to package directions

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 24 muffin cups with paper baking cups. In a large bowl, with an electric beater on medium speed, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and egg until creamy. Place 1/4 cup chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high power for about 30 seconds, or until melted; stir until smooth. Beat melted chips into cream cheese mixture. With a spoon, stir in remaining chocolate chips and set aside. Fill baking cups two-thirds full with cake batter. Drop a heaping teaspoon of cream cheese mixture in center of batter in each cup. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in cake part comes out clean. Makes 2 dozen cupcakes.

TACO RING

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, chopped

1 (1-1/4-ounce) package taco seasoning mix

1 cup (4 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese

2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent rolls

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 12-inch pizza pan. In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium-high heat, stirring until beef crumbles and is no longer pink; drain. Stir in taco seasoning; add water according to package directions. Cook over medium-high heat for 3 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed. Add cheese, stirring until it melts. Remove from heat and set aside. Unroll crescent rolls. Place wide end of triangles in center of pizza pan, forming a ring, overlapping dough as necessary. Spoon meat mixture into center of each triangle. Bring smaller ends of triangles over meat, tucking ends under.

Bake 20 minutes, or until rolls are golden. Serve warm.
