LOGAN — Stacie V. Hutton, the Mom’s Choice Award winning author of Shovelful of Sunshinewas signing copies of her at the Chief Logan State Park Lodge and Conference Center the evening of the Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. Christmas Homecoming Concert at the Coalfield Jamboree.

Shovelful of Sunshine is a children’s book paying tribute to coal miners and their families by a woman who grew up in the coalfields. Illustrated by Cheryl Harness,

“My book was inspired by the letters of coal miners.” Hutton said. “I want the whole nation to know that miners and their families are courageous and patriotic – that miners helped to build this country. America needs to know exactly who these men and women are – why they’re so important to life in our great nation. As a matter of fact, I’d like for you to have a coal miner or coal miner’s family member sign the book along with me; they’re a real inspiration and the backbone of our nation.”
