The B.A.R.N. News is on the brief side this week. With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, folks are busy and out and about. May each of you have a happy and healthy New Year.

Sympathy to the family of Helen Harless, of Nellis, who passed away Dec. 22 at the age of 89.

Sandra Evans, of Nellis, enjoyed seeing the Christmas lights at Ashland City Park with her daughter, Jessica, and her son-in-law, Jon.

Special thanks to Liz “Bonnie” Harvath, of Comfort, for the peanut butter fudge recipe. She says it is not the recipe for the old-fashioned peanut butter fudge, but it is good and freezes well if you wish:

1 18-ounce jar of Jif creamy peanut butter

1 16-ounce tub of Duncan Hines creamy vanilla frosting (use only Duncan Hines)

Place ingredients in a microwavable bowl. Cook for two minutes. Stir and mix well. Pour in an ungreased pan and cool in refrigerator. Enjoy.

Gina and Kassie Shope and friends from WVU Tech traveled to Charlotte, N.C., the past weekend to attend the West Virginia-North Carolina football game.

Patsy Turley, of Nellis, remains in the hospital. Continued get well wishes go to her.
