The Premier Bank Relay for Life team has once again received First Place recognition from the American Cancer Society for having raised the most money in the Boone Division 2012 campaign.

The Premier team raised $5,050 through bake sales, lunch sales, contests, and a variety of other fundraising activities to take the First Place award. Seventeen teams participated.

The Premier team also placed first in Best Campsite at the Relay for Life event, and received a Sponsorship award.

The Premier team extends a great thanks to bank customers and all employees who contributed to their efforts by supporting the fundraising projects. Jewell Mullins, loan officer, chaired the team’s efforts, and Boone Division Premier Bank President and CEO Emma Byrnside and Alice Browning served as co-chairs.

“Everyone participated and worked together to earn our team the Silver Award,” Jewell said. “We are proud of what we accomplished, and we’re going for the Gold next year.”

During an appreciation gathering and kickoff for the 2013 Relay for Life, Shelli May, an American Cancer Society representative, thanked everyone for their hard work and dedication to this worthy project. She praised all of the volunteers for making the 2012 Relay for Life in Boone County very successful.

May said the goal set for 2013 is $28,000.

Relay for Life teams are already making plans for 2013. The Premier Bank team will hold its first fundraiser for the new year this Friday, November 2, with a bake sale in the bank lobby. All support for this worthy cause is appreciated.
