WEST MADISON — It was unbeaten Scott taking on rival Chapmanville Regional High School on Friday night at Madison with the Skyhawks winning streak on the line.

Scott would stay undefeated with a 63-51 win over the Tigers in a battle of Cardinal Conference and Class AA sectional rivals.

Chapmanville, coached by first-year man Allan Hatcher, saw its record fall to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference. The Tigers had won two games last weekend at their own Bob Runyon Memorial Holiday Tournament to take the tourney title and had been riding a three-game winning streak.

Eric May netted a season-high 21 points to lead the Skyhawks, which improved to 8-0 on the season.

Matt Dolan and Logan Webb tallied 14 each for Scott.

Kenny Plumley led the Tigers with a 17-point effort. Michael Hurst had 15 and Mackenzie Martin 13. Trey Dalton, Denver Adkins and Jon Williamson each had two points for the Tigers.

Scott led 19-15 after one quarter and outscored Chapmanville 13-6 in the second to take a 32-21 advantage. The Tigers cut it to 47-37 after three with a 16-12 quarter score but Scott would end up outpointing Chapmanville 19-14 in the fourth to set the final score.

The Cardinal Conference standings could get a further shakeup Friday, when Scott (8-0, 5-0) visits Poca (7-1, 3-1). The Dots played at Wayne (2-3, 0-3) Tuesday night, but the results were not in by press deadline.
