Van’s Gunnoe to play for South

Tyler Gunnoe, Van High School Football standout, will be playing for the South Cardinals in the 2012 North-South Football game this Saturday evening. The game will be played at the University of Charleston’s Laidley Field with a 7:05 p.m. kick off.

Tyler led the Bulldogs to a 7-3 record last seasons and a playoff berth. He was one of the state’s leaders in total offense with 2,395 all-purpose yards and accounted for 182 points scored. He completed over 52 percent of his pass attempts, throwing for 1,015 yards and 12 touchdowns. He averaged 7.62 yards per attempt and scored an additional 11 touchdowns on 181 carries for the Bulldogs.

In addition, Tyler had 5 interceptions and made 56 tackles on defense and averaged 27.46 yards per punt. He was selected second team all-state for his efforts and contributions to the team.
