We have so much sickness in our community right now. The flu bug has hit us hard. I hope that everyone starts feeling better soon.

CHURCH NEWS

The Star of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at Twilight and its pastor, Rev. Melvin Messer, invite everyone to attend their services Sunday mornings at 10:30, Sunday evenings at 7 and Wednesday evenings at 7. Children's Church is held each Wednesday. The church will have dinner at noon and afternoon service at 2 on the second Sunday of each month. Ricky Bailey drives the church van throughout the community. Anyone who wants a ride to and from church services should call Bailey at 245-8493.

The Van United Methodist Church will have a country fall bazaar on Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tables are available if anyone wants to sell their crafts. The deadline for reserving a table is Nov. 3. Call Tim Spratt at

245-8847 for more information. Come join us for our hot dog

dinner, baked goods, crafts and fellowship.

The Greenwood Church of God will have an auction and hot dog sale on Nov. 7. The hot dog sale will start at 11 a.m. The auction will start at noon. You must register before the auction begins. Call Ruth Hoosier at 247-6549 for more information.

The Gordon Union Church is having a benefit gospel sing on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. Special singers will be Jacob's Ladder, By Grace, Gordonaires and The Johner Family. A special offering will be taken up and all proceeds will go to the food basket fund.

The Gordon Union Church will have a Veterans Day program and Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 8. We will have the Veterans Day program during Sunday school with singing by Daisy Plaster. Thanksgiving dinner will be after the program. If you are a veteran, please bring pictures or items to put on display. Matthew Johner will preach and Beth Mullins will sing at the 7 p.m. service. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Gordon Union Church is taking orders for pumpkin rolls. Orders must be turned in by Nov. 15. Pumpkin rolls are $12 with nuts and $10 without nuts. Call the church at 245-8102, Juanita Yeager at 245-8334, MeMe Thomas at 245-5795 or Donna Roe at 245-8002 for more information.
