November is almost over!

Thanksgiving will be here next week, and Christmas is just around the corner. It’s almost time to drag out all of those Christmas decorations and get into the Christmas Spirit.

For next week's column, I would like to add a little

section where people can tell us what they are thankful for. Just send me a line or two telling me what you are thankful for and make sure to put your name on it. We all have something to be thankful for. So, let's share it.

CHURCH NEWS

The Star of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at Twilight and its pastor, Rev. Melvin Messer, invite everyone to attend their services Sunday mornings at 10:30, Sunday evenings at 7 and Wednesday evenings at 7. Children's Church is held each Wednesday. The church will have dinner at noon and afternoon service at 2 on the second Sunday of each month. Ricky Bailey drives the church van throughout the community. Anyone who wants a ride to and from church services should call Bailey at 245-8493.

The Star of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at Twilight will have a gospel sing and praise service on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. The Calvary Sisters will perform. Everyone is invited. Call Pastor Melvin Messer at 369-1781 for more information.

The Gordon Union Church will have a special service on Nov. 22 after Sunday School. Steve Massey will preach. There will be no Sunday night service on the fourth Sunday.

SCHOOL NEWS

Wharton Elementary School will have a fall fair (yard sale/flea

market/arts and crafts) on Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school. You can rent a spot and one table for $10. Call the school at 247-6672 for more information.

I try my best to get a column in each week's paper. Sometimes, something comes up and I might not get a column in for that week. I also know that sometimes I might not get every person's birthday or anniversary in there.

If you want to make sure your news is in the column, please send it to me. I try to keep up the best I can, but, with a busy life, I can miss something. If you send me something and it doesn’t make it in the paper, it was not intentional. It might have been accidentally deleted or I might have forgotten to put it in there. If that happens, please let me know and I will get it in the next week's column. I’m not perfect, and mistakes can happen.
