Brookview Elementary School hosted its annual Veteran’s Day program on Thursday, November 8. Veterans from all branches of the military were honored with a musical presentation. Under the direction of Amber Irvin, the Brookview chorus sang God Bless the U.S.A., Amazing Grace, A Tribute to the Armed Forces, and other patriotic hymns. Along with our local veterans, a representative from U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller’s (D-W.Va.) office was in attendance. A luncheon was served immediately following the program. Brookview school officials said they were proud to host this annual event and would like to offer a sincere thank you to all who have served our country. Programs honoring veterans was also conducted at several other schools around the county, including Whitesville Elementary and Sherman Jr. and Sr. High schools.
