Boone County is one of several West Virginia counties under a severe weather watch.
A watch means conditions are right to see severe storms form.
Residents should remain weather alert and prepare to move to a sturdy shelter.
The main threat from storms in possible damaging winds near 60 mph, frequent lightening and possible hail.
The following West Virginia counties are under severe weather watch tonight: Boone County; Cabell County; Lincoln County; Logan County; McDowell County; Mingo County; Raleigh County; Wayne County; and Wyoming County.
