Alleged murder suspect Timothy Parsons
BLOOMINGROSE – Police are searching for a suspect wanted in an alleged double murder and sexual assault of a teenage girl in Bloomingrose. Timothy Parsons, 36, of Comfort, is wanted by police for allegedly killing his wife, his mother-in-law and sexually assaulting his 15-year-old step-daughter. Parsons is described as being 6-foot-1, 220 pounds with salt and pepper hair and hazel eyes. Police said he is balding with a receding hair line. Boone County Sheriff Rodney Miller confirmed that Leighanne Kinder-Parsons and her mother Sue Kinder were stabbed to death, while Kinder-Parsons’ 15-year-old daughter was bound and restrained and allegedly sexually assaulted in the home just over the Bloomingrose Bridge on River Avenue. Miller said Kinder-Parsons was apparently killed sometime Monday night, May 14, 2012, while it is believed that her mother Sue Kinder was killed sometime Tuesday morning, May 15, 2012. It has been reported that the two women stabbed had their throats slashed, but Miller did not confirm this report. Miller said the 15-year-old was able to free herself after the suspect Timothy Parsons left the home around 9 a.m., Tuesday morning. She went to a nearby residence and told a neighbor what had happened. “She is in fairly good condition, considering what she has been through,” Sheriff Miller said. “Even after 33 years in law enforcement, this was a pretty horrifying thing.” A 5-year-old sister that was not at the scene and did not live at the residence was at Sherman Elementary School, which led to police and school officials putting the school on lockdown. Parsons vehicle, which was allegedly a 2004 grey Ford Mustang, was recovered by police abandoned in the Slaughter’s Creek area of Kanawha County. “We do not believe he is armed with any weapons, but we are asking residents to be on the look-out for this man,” Sheriff Miller said. “Keep your doors locked and do not approach him. If you see him call 911 immediately.” Neighbors gathered on the other side of Bloomingrose Bridge while investigators processed the crime scene. “I have lived in this area for 36 years and this is one of the worst things I have ever heard of,” said Harry Linville. Linville said he first thought his brother and his wife were killed, but found out that they were not harmed. “My brother lives right next door,” he said. “This is just awful.” Lori Edwards of Racine said her mother-in-law lives just down the street from the crime scene. “I was at the doctor’s office when I heard what happened and I was scared to death for my mother-in-law,” she said. “Who could do this type of thing?” Billy Dickens of Bloomingrose said he lives just across the street from where the crimes allegedly happened. “We don’t even lock our doors around here,” he said. “This is a great neighborhood and I was in total shock when I heard what happened. He must have just flipped out or something. He has to be crazy to do that. I guess I will be locking my doors and checking my windows from now on.” If you see the suspect or have any additional information about this alleged crime, contact 911 or 304-369-7394 immediately, Sheriff Miller said.
