A Danville man wanted by police has been found dead on Hobet mining property. Officials reported the deceased as Zarcus Lee Gore, 27, of Danville. He was found Saturday morning, May 4, 2013, by a turkey hunter, according to investigators with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department. Initial reports appear to indicate a suspected overdose death, officials said. According to a criminal complaint filed at the Boone County Courthouse, Gore was on home confinement, living with his uncle, stemming from charges of sexual assault of a male victim, whose name and age was not released. On Jan. 23, 2013, Gore and another man, identified as Dwayne Carter, allegedly hit and kicked the male in the area of Boone Lumber Company, then carried him to the apartment where Gore lived at the time, according to the criminal complaint. The victim was then sexually abused, the complaint stated. Gore was also charged with two other felonies, malicious wounding and forcible compulsion. Gore was place on home confinement and moved in with an uncle on Horse Branch Road in Danville, according to court documents. A hearing in the matter took place on May 2, 2013, at which the alleged victim testified against Gore, according to court officials. During the early morning hours on Friday, May 3, 2013, Gore absconded from home confinement, stole a pistol and some cash and apparently hiked up Hobet property, according to the criminal complaint. The complaint states that he told his uncle that things didn’t go well for him in court and that he was not going to go back to jail. In the complaint, the uncle said after awaking to Gore’s home confinement box beeping, he found that approximately $250 in cash and several $2 bills had been stolen from his pants pocket. He also noticed that a scanner was missing, as well as a .32 caliber semi-automatic pistol. Investigators did not say if any of those items were in Gore’s possession when his body was found. Gore has been in trouble with the law before and has a felony conviction on Sept. 7, 2011, for malicious assault and malicious wounding. He was also accused of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The malicious and sexual assault charges were investigated by Chuck Shultz and Chet Burgess with Madison Police Department, according to court documents. According to Gore’s online Facebook account, he had previously served in the U.S. military and attended Scott High School. Several individuals offered their condolences to Gore and his family online. The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation into Gore’s death and no other details or information has been released.

I agree! Zarcus was special to so many people. I do not think his children should have to grow up to hear people say the things that they have read in this article. Why is it that every time someone who wasn't loaded with money dies you dig up all the dirt about them you can? Could you not have sad anything about the good things he has done?
