The Madison Rotary Club enjoyed a program by guest speaker Bill Cook, right, director of campus operations for the Boone/Lincoln Campus of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, when he spoke to the club on March 3. He gave an update on Southern's progress, and the local campus as well as announcing several exciting upcoming programs and projects that will be implemented at Southern--educational opportunities designed to better serve students at the growing campus. After partnering with Boone County Schools and relocating to the Boone Career Center location several years ago, the Boone campus has continued to grow and expand, offering area students the opportunity to build a career by completing higher education courses in a college setting. Southern, which began with only the Logan campus, has expanded to the current four that includes Boone/Lincoln, Logan, Williamson, and Wyoming/McDowell, as well as a site at Lincoln County High School. Cook was introduced by Nick Smith, left, vice president of the Madison Rotary Club.
