Gale Roberts of Orgas, passed away Dec. 28, 2008, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after a short illness.

He was born July 27, 1948, at Charleston, a son of the late Edward Earl “Ed” and Carrie Cantley Roberts.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Roberts.

He was a retired coal miner with Peabody Coal and a member of the UMWA. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Boone Lodge No. 162 AF & AM and Scottish Rights.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Roberts; a daughter, Shana Roberts and partner Stacy Williams; a grandson, Alexander Williams; a sister, Drema “Cookie” Deal; and a brother, Connie Roberts all of Sylvester; six nieces, four nephews; three great nieces; and three great nephews.

Graveside service was held with Masonic Graveside Rites by Boone Lodge No. 162 AF & AM, on Jan. 1, 2009, at Adkins Cemetery, Naoma with the Rev. David Minturn officiating.
