White, who hails from Boone County, is best known for his dancing and Elvis impersonation. A PBS documentary during the early ‘90s made him famous — or as some may say, “infamous.”
Jesco’s most famous quote from the “Dancing Outlaw” documentary: "I'm tired of eatin' sloppy, slimy eggs," which was directed toward his then-wife’s apparent difficulties with cooking fried eggs.
Recently, a new documentary movie about the legendary Boone County entertainer made its way to movie theaters across the country.
“The Wild Wonderful Whites of West Virginia” is a documentary film featuring Jesco White and other members of the White family.
Producers of the film said, “Shoot-outs, robberies, gas-huffing, drug dealing, pill popping, murders, and tap dancing — what do these all have in common? These are just a few of the parts of being a member of the Wild and Wonderful White Family.”
The filmmakers claim the legendary family is as known for their wild, excessive criminal ways as they are for their famous mountain-dancing members.
White married Alida Darvill.
“I feel great,” Jesco said. “I’m on cloud nine and feel like I'm knocking on Heaven’s door.”
Darvill, who said she is Puerto Rican, said she was “ecstatic” about the marriage.
“Jesco is the sweetest person in the world and I love him to death,” she said following the ceremony.
Jesco sister, Mamie Warner, who also appeared with him in “The Wild Wonderful Whites of West Virginia” film also attended the wedding.
“I am happy for him,” she said. “I want him to be happy.”
Mamie says she introduced the couple.
“He needs someone to help take care and look after him,” she said.
Jesco’s nephew Thomas White also attended the ceremony, along with Jesco’s pet dog, “Patches.”
“If he is happy, then I am happy for him,” Thomas White said. “He knows I will always have his back.”
Jesco said the couple would have their honeymoon at home and he doesn’t know at this point what getting married will mean to the future of his entertainment career.
“I recently did another voice-over for the Cartoon Network’s show ‘The Squidbillies,” and a few other things, but I can’t really answer right now what I plan to do in the future.”
Jesco and the entire White clan have gathered a loyal following over the years.
“I appreciate all my fans on the Internet and Facebook and hope they wish me well in my new marriage,” Jesco said.
The couple was married by Pastor Steve Burns.
