We at the Coal Valley News heard numerous rumors as to why the carnival did not show. However, here are a few fictional reasons why the carnival did not make an appearance for the children of Boone County.
Bill’s wife’s cousin’s best friend’s aunt’s neighbor’s uncle heard the carnival owner’s were intimidated by us Boone County folk.
The carnival owners wanted to “keep up with the Jones’ and be the next ‘No Show Jones.”
The carnival rides were repossessed. Watch for the next reality show coming soon, “Carnival Repo.”
On a more serious rumor, we heard the carnival scheduled to appear at the Boone County Fair could not pass inspection. This was due to the severe crack down on safety due to Camden Park’s recent events.
Rumors are just that— “rumors” — and should not be taken as fact.
Even though the carnival did not show the 2011 Boone County Fair had many things to offer for those who attended. There were homemade quilts, crafts and food. There were concerts for the adults and bouncy inflatable items for the kids to jump in.
Anyone that missed the Boone County Fair missed a great event and we urge everyone to support and attend the fair next year.
