According to a criminal complaint filed by officer J.T. Adams of the Madison Police Department, Christina Miller was charged with DUI, alcohol related and DUI, drug-related. She allegedly had possession of a controlled substance (Hydrocodone) and possession of marijuana, less than 15 grams.
While on patrol on Rt. 85 at the end of Leftwich Ave., a vehicle was spotted sitting in the northbound traffic lane facing Danville, according to the complaint.
The officer observed a man standing in the road just away from the vehicle.
Upon pulling up to the individual, he told the officer that the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and had narcotics in the vehicle, according Adams' report.
The officer then told the man to stay there until the officer could come back and talk to him and proceeded to follow the 1998 Buick Regal up Leftwich where the vehicle stopped and the officer observed her exiting from driver's side door.
According to the criminal complaint, Miller was observed swaying and with glassy eyes and strong speech. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was also detected by the arresting officer, according to the report.
She told Adams that she had been drinking and cleaning house and he asked if all she had been doing was drinking and she said yes.
The officer then asked about the white powder in her nose, and she admitted to snorting a hydrocodone tablet earlier.
When asked to pull out her pockets, Miller produced three hydrocodone tablets, according to the criminal complaint, and a pipe with marijuana residue and rolling papers.
After failing a field sobriety test and blowing a .157 on a preliminary breathalizer, the defendant was taken to the Madison Police Station where she was retested and blew a .158 blood alcohol level.
Miller was arraigned by Magistrate Porter Snodgrass, who set bail at $40,000 surety or $4,000 cash, according to court documents.
If found guilty on all charges, the defendant faces up to 21 months in jail and/or up to $3,000 in fines.
