Sissonville 77, Scott 66
A 26-6 second period deficit proved too much for the Skyhawks to overcome, as Sissonville posted the 77-66 win last Saturday at Sissonville. Scott battled back with a 43-31 second half effort, but dropped to 1-7 on the season.
Noah Fischer fired in 30 points to pace the Sissonville offense. Fischer hit six three-point goals overall, tossing in at least one three-pointer in each period. Lance Walker and Kyle Snyder added 14 and 12 points respectively for the Indians.
Steven McComas, Timmy Hudson, and Donovan Pearson powered the Skyhawk attack. McComas netted 19 points, including four three-pointers, and handed out five assists. Hudson hit for 19 points, including a trio of three-pointers and 17 points during a red-hot third quarter. Pearson tallied 17 points and snared eight rebounds.
Trey Workman added five ‘Hawk markers, Carl Shaffer had two points and three steals, and Jared Jarrell and Marcus Linville each scored two points.
Scott head coach Jason Kingery remarked, “These two games (vs Westside and Sissonville) this week were real good indicators of how close we are to becoming a really good team. Regardless, we must find ways to dig out some wins and build some confidence come sectional time.
“Our kids are playing hard, but the bottom line is we are still coming up short on the scoreboard. Our players are not satisfied with playing hard and coming up short. We practice and play to win, and we will continue to work hard and make no excuses. There will be no quit in this team!”
