Indicted in April of 2006, 22-year-old Clarence Michael Albright was charged with not only two counts of first degree sexual assault, but also four counts of first degree sexual abuse and five counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian.
In exchange for pleading guilty to the two counts of first degree sexual assault, the court agreed to drop the remaining nine counts held against him.
The charges stem from events that occurred in 2003, according to a criminal complaint issued in Boone Magistrate Court by Deputies M.D. Foster and J.L. Dingess.
At the time of arrest, Albright was accused of sexually abusing two female victims, and having sexual intercourse with one of the girls.
According to the complaint, the first victim was touched inappropriately by the defendant while he was visiting her home on two different occasions.
The instances of sexual abuse against the second victim were perpetrated while Albright was baby sitting the child, according to the report.
In the criminal complaint, the defendant was accused of touching the girl in an inappropriate, sexual manner on more than one occasion.
In addition, he was accused of having intercourse with the victim on two seperate occasions while baby sitting.
When arrested, Albright was placed on an $80,000 bond by Magistrate Chuck Byrnside, according to court documents, charged with four counts each of first degree sexual assault and first degree sexual abuse.
According to defendant's petition to the court, he could face 15 to 35 years in a state penitentiary or a fine of between $1,000 and $10,000, or both, based on the discretion of the trial court.
Sentencing in the Albright case has not yet been set.
