A public meeting for the Nellis community will be held at the Nellis Elementary School gym, Monday, March 5, at 6:30 PM. Sandra Giles, Boone County Sanitarian, will be present to discuss the need for a public sewage system in the Nellis community. Make plans to attend this important meeting to learn what we, as residents, can do to address this issue.

Our sympathy to family and friends of Mrs Bea Lewis of Nellis who passed away Wednesday, February 21 at the age of 97. Mrs Lewis came to Nellis after her marriage to Oather Lewis on September 12, 1928. Mr Lewis was founder and owner of Nellis Motor Sales. After his retirement their only son, the late Jerry B. Lewis, took over the business. One former Nellis resident, Jack Keeney, best described Mrs Lewis as “always cheerful, kind, a wonderful person to know. I think she was the First Lady of Nellis.” Mrs Lewis will be sadly missed by her many friends and neighbors.

Sandra Evans of Nellis sends a big thank you for all the gifts, cards and phone calls she received on her 40th birthday on February 15. Her family surprised her with a small party when she came home from work. Her daughter Brittany also made sure that everyone knew she was the Big 4-0 by "decorating" the area with posters and black balloons!
