SETH - One year after suffering through a winless season, coach Jim Henderson’s Sherman Tide finished the 2006-07 regular season with an impressive 15-7 record.
Powered by a balanced offense, Henderson’s Tide won three games last week to raise their mark to 15-7, the best Tide boys basketball finish since 1999.
Each of the five Sherman starters concluded regular season play with a double-digit scoring average.
Seniors David Henderson (18.2 points per game) and Brandon Treadway (14.8) topped that 2006-07 Sherman Tide scoring list.
Senior Michael Kirk and senior Justin Treadway averaged 12.1 and 11.0 points per game respectively. Justin Maloskey capped a very solid freshman season with an 11.2 average.
Sherman 89, Hannan 56
David Henderson scored 23 points and Justin Treadway added 18 Tide markers as Sherman claimed win #15 of the season at home last Friday evening.
Michael Kirk contributed 16 points and seven assists and Brandon Treadway added 15 points and 12 rebounds to help power the Tide. Justin Maloskey chipped in nine points and five rebounds.
Sherman led 49-25 at halftime.
Sherman 94, Teays Chr. 54
David Henderson (21 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds) and Brandon Treadway (12 points, 11 rebounds) led Sherman to the road win last Monday night.
Justin Maloskey backed their effort with 15 points and eight rebounds, Michael Kirk added 12 points and six assists, and Justin Treadway contributed 12 points and six rebounds.
Colby Treadway (six points) and Brandon Lovejoy (five points) teamed up for 11 Tide markers while Seth Smith added four and Jonathan Bowman hit for two.
Sherman led 43-29 at halftime and 67-41 after three quarters.
Sherman 74 Sissonville 72
Henderson added 18 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists as the Tide edged Sissonville at home last Thursday night.
Brandon Treadway provided the inside force, netting 17 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
Brandon Treadway and David Henderson each tallied six fourth quarter points to help the Tide hold off the Indians.
Michael Kirk added 17 points and Justin Treadway netted eight. Justin Maloskey netted five points, Daniel Linville added four, Chris Carney had three, and Colby Treadway netted two.
Sherman will compete in the Class AA Region Six, Section One Tournament play this Friday (7:30 p.m.) at Logan.
The Tide will meet the winner of Tuesday’s Scott-Chapmanville contest for the sectional title.
